UNDERSTANDING COMMISSIONS

What's in a name?
My last name is pronounced rou'-tee. Rhymes with pouty. It is of German derivation. Jon or Jack? My given name is Jon Michael Route but like JFK, I'm usually called by my nick-name, Jack. Just don't call me late for dinner, yuk, yuk.

Welcome to my studio! Just a few photos to aquaint you with the environment in which I work. My studio is about 1300 sq feet ... a converted garage space with additions.

Here also, my workbenches and some work in progress.
I'm definately a pack-rat. I love having the visual stimulation; the reminders, the images of artists work I admire, people I love and even the unfinished, historical and aborted projects that occupy my workspace as a sort of real-life scrapbook. The odd pieces of metal, a favorite canoe paddle, a collection of oil and gas cans, grad school pieces, strange tools and of course lots of photos.
